Claim disciplinary reports do not align with perception displayed on social media
In an email to Saratoga Springs High School Families, principle Tsao suggested that reports of increased violence on campus does not match the districts disciplinary data.
Principle Tsao:
“We are aware of parent/guardian concerns relating to the perception that there is an increase in violent behavior at Saratoga Springs High School. Incidents of violent behavior are rare, and our disciplinary data does not align with social media reports. 99% of our students have not been involved in any acts of aggression."
The denial continued during the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, April 12.
During the meeting, Board President Emeka stated that the increase in violent behavior was unsubstantiated, untrue and just a rumor on social media.
Her notion was supported by board members Krackler, Lahtakia, and Brueggemann all of whom initially refused to support a motion by board member Ellithorpe to ask the district to provide the board with a report summarizing the extent of the violent and anti-social behavior and provide them with a list of tactics to rectify the problem.
It was only after a lengthy debate that these four board members approved the motion by board member Ellithrope.
